Library Services

RUCRL has five libraries serving the Richmond Valley and Kyogle Council areas. We provide a wide range of services, many of which are available to the general public.

Services


Be Connected

RUCRL is a Be Connected Network partner. We offer in-person support and friendly help and advice so you can develop your digital skills and confidence. Phone 6660 0250 for more information.


Bulk loans

Bulk loans are available to aged homes and schools upon request.


Cake tin library

We have a variety of novelty cake tins which can be borrowed to make that special cake. Download a brochure for more information.


eSmart Libraries

RUCRL is an eSmart Library. eSmart Libraries is a cyber safety framework designed to fully equip libraries, staff and library users with the skills they need for smart, safe and responsible use of digital technology. Phone 6660 0250 for more information.


Exercise equipment library

We have a variety of exercise equipment available for loan. There is also a recumbent bike for members to use within Casino library. Download a brochure for more information.


Function room hire

Casino function room is available for hire and is equipped with teleconferencing and kitchenette facilities.
Hire fees are:
$30.90 per hour
$92.70 per day
Free for community groups


Home library service

Home delivery is available to residents of Casino, Kyogle and Evans Head who are unable to visit their local library due to health reasons. Volunteers assist with the delivery of items on a fortnightly basis. For further information download the Home Library Service application.


Home schooling book supply service

Extended loans for items on a requested theme are available for families who are Home Schooling. For further information download the Home Schooling Book Supply Service application.


Interlibrary loans

An interlibrary loan service is provided for items not held in the Richmond – Upper Clarence Regional Library collection. A fee applies for all interlibrary loans, payable when the item is collected.
Items requested from a Public Library: $5.60 per item
Items requested from a University or Special Library: Minimum $26.18 per item
How long will it take? Delivery times vary but generally allow a 2 week delivery period for the item.
How long can I keep the item? The lending library determines the length of the loan and whether renewals are possible.


Internet access

All our libraries provide free use of computers with internet access and Microsoft Office software for the general public. We recommend that you book ahead to avoid waiting. Bookings for up to an hour can be made one day in advance.

Free WiFi is available at the Casino, Evans Head, Kyogle and Mobile libraries.

Laptops are available to borrow for use within the library by current members aged 14 years and over at Casino, Kyogle and Evans Head branches.


Jigsaw puzzle collection

We have a large range of jigsaw puzzles available for loan. Download a brochure for more information.


 

Knitting needles & crochet hook collection

We have a large range of knitting needles and crochet hooks available for loan. Download a brochure for more information.


Laminating service

You can have documents laminated at Casino library. A fee applies for this service.
A4 pages: $2 each
A3 pages: $4 each


Printing and photocopying service

You can print and photocopy at all branches (except the Mobile Library). A fee applies for this service.
Black & white A4 pages: 20c each
Black & white A3 pages: 40c each
Colour A4 pages: $1 each
Colour A3 pages: $2 each


3D printing service

Our Library provides a 3D printing service for 10¢/g.

Scanning service

You can scan documents to email or USB at Casino, Kyogle and Evans Head branches. A fee applies for this service.
Scan to email: $2 per email
Scan to USB: No charge

Self-service
