Lyndall Murray was born in Portland, NSW, and grew up in country communities where sport became her gateway to opportunity. From these experiences, she developed a deep appreciation for the role that art, culture, music, and sport play in creating opportunities for young people and driving economic development.
Lyndall is committed to socially responsible growth, ensuring that infrastructure, jobs, and essential services scale in step with population growth, while protecting our natural environment.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, she has worked with some of Australia’s most recognised organisations, including Wests Tigers, GWS Giants, AUSTAR (Foxtel), and Village Roadshow Theme Parks, as well as global brands such as the UFC. Today, she works as a business consultant supporting both start-ups and established businesses across domestic and international markets in tourism, hospitality, and technology.
In 2024, Lyndall premiered Washed Away as producer of the social enterprise film, which went on to be shortlisted for nine national and international awards, winning four. Together with co-director Stuart McKay, her production company has since launched When the Dust Settles, a powerful film raising awareness of men’s mental health in regional Australia, and is soon to release One Shot, a short documentary capturing the journey of one brave family sending their Kombi down the infamous Gunshot Creek crossing in Cape York.
Passionate about storytelling and reshaping systems, Lyndall champions the idea that profit and purpose should go hand in hand, redefining business as a force for good. A long-standing social justice campaigner, she advocates for equal opportunity and inclusion so that all people have the chance to prosper, no matter their background.
For the Richmond Valley, Lyndall envisions a future built on fairness and opportunity, with job growth and infrastructure shared equitably across the region, and a strong, united tourism brand that showcases the Valley to the world.
