Razorback Lookout Upgrade

Razorback Lookout Upgrade

The future development of Evans Head’s Razorback Lookout, on Ocean Drive, and Goanna Headland, located adjacent to the Dirrawong Reserve, is underway.

Sitting 45m above sea level and offering commanding northern views across the township of Evans Head and beyond, Razorback Lookout is a key drawcard for visitors to the Mid Richmond and a major feature of the town.

For visitors, it also acts as a gateway to a unique variety of coastal walks on offer through Dirrawong Reserve to the breathtaking views from Goanna Headland.

To inform the Razorback Lookout improvement project, Council staff initially held consultation meetings with stakeholders, including the Dirrawong Reserve Trust and the Evans Head Business and Community Chamber.

In November 2019, Council released a draft master plan for the upgrade of the site featuring a number of improvements, and sought community feedback.

The aim of the draft master plan is to provide an ideas map for a range of improvements which complement the Lookout’s character, and encourage discussion and feedback by allow people to visualise possible upgrades.

The draft master plan is available for viewing below.
