Flood Risk Management Plan Committee

A Flood Risk Management Plan Committee (the Committee) is to be formed to assist Richmond Valley Council (the Council) prepare a Flood Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMSP) for its local government area (the LGA).

While the Committee has no executive powers to make decisions on behalf of Council, its role will be to provide feedback, input and advice regarding flooding, flood behaviour, and flood management options/opportunities for the LGA.

The Committee will hold meetings online (via Teams) with the first likely in early June 2025 and regularly thereafter leading towards the preparation of a Draft FRMSP.  The Committee and its representatives may be involving in exhibiting the Draft FRMSP and will meet post exhibition to finalise the FRMSP.

Expressions of Interest (EoI) are invited from residents, ratepayers and/or community groups of the Richmond Valley LGA to represent the community on the Committee.  Please complete this EoI form by COB Friday, 30 May 2025.

The Code Of Conduct policy, must also be read before submitting the EoI.
