Set just prior to WW1 this historical British mystery with Lord Sheridan and his beautiful American wife as the secret Police consultants on the case are asked to investigate under the guise of a holiday with local Squire friends the strange goings on as vital wireless radio technology being developed by a friendly Italian inventor working for the British War Dept is being stolen by unidentified foreign competitors as European powers jockey position for the impending Great War.  The Lizard is the perfect location for the Italian inventor to experiment with his new wireless technology.  The Lizard is a remote part of Britain. The land like the body of a lizard stretches out into the ocean with a little known, protected deepwater harbour accessed via a treacherous path from the open ocean and shipping lanes used by large freight and war ships.  The Lizard is a wild and sparsely populated place with intriguing ancient stone ruins, myths of fairies, druids and danger, amazing views, unique flora and fauna, stunning hikes, sudden weather changes, treacherous cliff paths and frightened locals.  Very interesting and a good mystery – 5 stars.
