Bookmark this name in your faves – Eskedahl is a new must read for all mystery buffs. This author brings together so much so well. Eskedahl is able to craft the suspenseful thrilling best of Scandi mystery fiction in such a uniquely skilful manner that’s not psychologically confronting, like so many other Scandi mystery fictions, but instead relies on the reader needing to become close with all the characters and the local flavour of New Zealand’s breathtaking, wild countryside and down-to-Earth, people to unravel the mystery.
I guarantee you’ll be so taken with the Matakana series and characters that you’ll still be thinking and caring about them even after you’ve finished the book! 5 stars!
