Council (the Principal) is seeking Tenders from appropriately qualified and experienced Tenderers for the Design & Construction of the NRLX Effluent Management System. Northern Rivers Livestock Exchange is located on Dargaville Drive approximately 6.6km northwest from the Casino CBD.
The scope of this project includes researching and investigating alternative treatment methods as part of the initial design consultation, which includes;

• Design and implementation of a wastewater treatment processing system
• Detailed investigation to the cost, maintenance, and environmental benefit of additional sediment removal at the entry point of truck wash waste prior to sediment pits.
• Investigation and review of sediment pit efficiency and process.
• Investigation and review of facultative ponds efficiency and water treatment process.
• Development of temporary effluent management plan.
• Development of dewatering management plan.
A concept design must be produced, and feedback sought from the principal prior to proceeding to a detailed design.
Following feedback on concept design, preparation of engineering design ready for construction.
Finalisation of detailed design and scope of works including investigations for optimal effluent management.
The tenderer is to procure materials and carry out the construction of the project which includes:
• Site establishment and implementation of temporary effluent management systems
• Establishment of dewatering and desludging areas
• Prepare a dewatering plan to be approved by EPA prior to construction.
• Completion of dewatering and desludging of effluent systems.
• Raising or relocation of pump housing structure.
• Processing of sediment waste to comply with bio-security directions prior to export from site.
• Remediation works and stabilisation of effluent pond walls.
• Increase flow channel sizes and optimise flow levels and directions.
• Increase perimeter wall heights to prevent flood/stormwater ingress to wastewater system.
• Pond reconstruction.
• Lining of effluent ponds if required.
• Improvements to wastewater distribution system.
• Site clean-up and rehabilitation of disturbed areas.
