Council will be carrying out its seasonal weed control for bindii, clover and multiple broad leaf species from Monday 23 June to Tuesday 30 September, weather permitting.
Weed invasion threatens the biodiversity of our reserves and affects the function, community use and amenity of our public spaces.
Our spraying schedule is necessary to not only eliminate unwanted plants, but to also protect public property from pest damage, and to meet community expectations for aesthetically appealing parks, sports fields and public facilities.
Council’s herbicides are applied in a safe, responsible manner, minimising potential harm to the community and the environment. We also actively implement and consider integrated pest management techniques to reduce our use of herbicide.
All Council’s weed control staff and contractors are accredited for safe use and storage of chemicals.
