WE ALL know someone who truly makes the Richmond Valley a better place, and now is your opportunity to recognise them as a local hero for a Richmond Valley Australia Day Award.
Nominations are now open for the awards to be presented at Richmond Valley Council’s Australia Day event on 26 January at the Casino Drill Hall.
The awards are offered in the following six categories: Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year, Volunteer and Young Volunteer of the Year, Sportsperson and Young Sportsperson of the Year.
Mayor Robert Mustow urged the Richmond Valley community to consider people worthy of recognition for helping make our region a better place to live.
“The annual awards program recognises and honours the outstanding achievements of individuals within our area,” he said.
“Whether it’s a volunteer, sporting, social, environmental or cultural endeavour, we want to celebrate their contribution to our community.”
Nominations are open and online as of today at www.richmondvalley.nsw.gov.au/page/Community_Services/Australia_Day/.
Nominations will close at midnight on Sunday 7 January, 2024.
