Art on Bundjalung is a First Nations-led arts market and cultural program held on Country across the Northern Rivers region. Through the sharing of culture across many forms – art, performance, food and ceremony – Art on Bundjalung brings community together to connect, gather, and celebrate the First Nations creatives that call Bundjalung Country home.
This year Art on Bundjalung Market is coming to Dirruwung | Evans Head on Saturday the 16th of November 2024 from 9am – 3pm. Dirruwung, meaning goanna is the name given to this place by Bandjalang ancestors and is the gathering ground for this year’s event. The event will be held at Cribb Reserve, located in the centre of town along the river foreshore.
Art on Bundjalung 2024 builds on the successful legacy of three previous iterations: the inaugural market in 2019 and then in 2021 in Dundurimba | Lismore, and 2022 on Githabul / Gullibul Country in Kyogle. This year, Art on Bundjalung is proud to be working with Aunty Simone Barker, custodian and knowledge holder for the Bandjalang people, in guiding the development of the event for Dirruwung | Evans Head.
