How can I contact Council?

When was Richmond Valley Council formed?
Richmond Valley Council was formed in February 2000 following the amalgamation of the former Richmond River Shire and Casino Municipality councils.
Council general elections were held in September 2008, a by-election in 2009 and general elections again in September 2012 and 2016.

Where are the Council Chambers and when are the meetings held?
The Council Chambers are at the corner of Walker Street and Graham Place, Casino. The entrance is on Graham Place.
Council meetings are held generally on the third Tuesday of each month at 5pm. Members of the public are most welcome to attend. Business papers for all meetings are available from the Council Meetings page on Friday prior to the meeting. Those who wish to address the Council on any listed matter, or ask a question, will be able to do so by submitting a request before 9.30am on the Monday prior to the meeting. The public sessions will be conducted at the start of the meeting. A time limit of five minutes per address will apply.

Where can I find Council plans and reports?
Council is required to provide a series of reports to the community regarding its finances, initiatives and operations. Many of these reports are available on the Integrated Planning and Reporting page.

Where can I pay accounts?
Accounts and rates can be paid at the Casino and Evans Head Administration Offices, or pay online using Australia Post’s online payment facility.

Where is my nearest neighbourhood centre?
There are two neighbourhood centres servicing the Richmond Valley. The Casino Neighbourhood Centre services communities in Casino and surrounds, while the Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre services the communities of Coraki, Broadwater, Woodburn and Evans Head.

Where is the Mayor's office?
The Mayor’s office is in the Casino Administration Office. Appointments can be made by calling 02 6660 0300.
