Woodburn-Evans Head Shared Pathway

Woodburn-Evans Head Shared Pathway

The Woodburn-Evans Head Shared Pathway will form part of the Three Villages Cycleway project connecting Woodburn to Evans Head, joining the Ray Jeffrey Memorial Cycleway already in place from the Riverside Retirement Village, Doonbah. The pathway will create a 5.8km by 2.5-metre-wide shared user path and will be a crucial link between neighbouring communities.

Council has received $5,392,000 of funding through Transport for NSW’s Road Safety Program which is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments. Council has awarded the tender to CivilCS Pty Ltd to deliver the project.

The outcome and objective of the Road Safety Program is to deliver road safety upgrades and improvements through infrastructure projects and improve protection for vulnerable road users, particularly on urban footpaths, shared pathways, cycleways, and road crossings. This project aims to deliver several direct benefits and positive outcomes for the community including enhancing community connectivity, encouraging active lifestyles, enhancing accessibility for all residents and visitors, improve road safety, connecting schools, parks, and businesses.
