VP262603 – Flood Works Package 1- Gores Rd- Construct culvert, Repair Bridge Approaches

Essential Public Asset Restoration (EPAR) Claims have been made for the repair of flood damage to these sites under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

This tender has been called to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to repair flood damage including: constructing a replacement culvert and repairing the flood damaged embankment on Gores Road and repairing bridge approaches at Unnamed Bridge, and Pelican Creek Bridge Gores Road. All sites are within 1.5-2.7km of each other.

Gores Road is a rural road, with approximate AADT 78 vehicles per day. It runs between Rambaldinis Road and Spring Grove Road. Gores Road is predominantly unsealed, however the flood repairs are in sealed sections. Gores Road is a school bus route. Some motorists have started to use Gores Road as a shortcut recently due to the closure of Naughtons Gap Road due to flood damage. The site is 15km from Casino, and 24km from Lismore.

The tender comprises of repairs of flood damage sustained to 3 sites on Gores Road, a culvert and embankment site that requires a new culvert to be installed, and the existing culvert site and embankment be remediated and the road resealed to the provided design and repairs to bridge approaches at Unnamed Bridge, Gores Rd (near Hicks Road) 1.57km from the culvert site and Pelican Creek Bridge on the corner of Rambaldinis Road and Gores Road, 2.7km from the culvert site.
