VP259162 – Detailed Design and Construct Casino Showground Precinct

Closing Date: Tuesday 14 September 2021 - Closed

The site is located on the southern outskirts of Casino on the Summerland Way, just over 2km from the central business district. It is ideally situated to enable large-scale events to be held, whilst having the support of a regional town for accommodation, servicing needs and, consequently creating important flow-on economic benefits to the local economy.

The precinct currently hosts numerous community user groups, including agricultural clubs, equestrian groups, cattle and poultry groups. It is also the home for the Casino Racing Club. The Casino Racing Club currently has up to 20 horses regularly training at the facility each week and hosts up to five race meetings each year. The track occasionally gains additional race meetings if other nearby tracks are washed out due to rain events. The precinct is also the home for a very important community organisation, The Casino Community Men’s Shed.

The site is serviced with potable water, sewer, electrical supply and can be connected to NBN telecommunication. A critical part of the brief will require review/investigation of the existing authority connections and design of augmentation if required, particularly electricity.
