VP242344 – Detailed Design of the Casino Showground Precinct Upgrades

Closing Date: Friday 4 June 2021 - Closed

The site is located on the southern outskirts of Casino, on the Summerland Way, just over 2km from the central business district, meaning that it is ideally located to enable large-scale
events to be held, whilst having the support of a regional town for accommodation and servicing needs and, consequently creating important flow-on economic benefits to the local
economy.

The precinct currently hosts numerous community user groups, including horse, cattle and poultry groups. It is also the home for the Casino Racing Club. There are currently up to 20
horses regularly training out of Casino, with four race meetings a year. The track occasionally gains additional race meetings if other nearby tracks are washed out. The precinct is also the location for the important community organisation, The Casino Men’s Shed.

The site is serviced with potable water, sewer, electrical supply and can be connected to NBN telecommunication. A critical part of the brief will require review/investigation of the
existing authority connections and design of augmentation if required, particularly electricity.

Council has been working on a concept masterplan which illustrates the proposed development of the site. (see attachment A). This masterplan is to form the basis of the design deliverables.
