In October 2019 the Rappville Community Hall was destroyed by bushfires that impacted the region. Council is seeking suitably qualified contractors to construct a new community hall.
Replacement/construction of a new purpose-built community hall is an important initiative for the community of Rappville and part of the recovery process.
Construction of a new hall is necessary to replace valuable social infrastructure lost in the bushfires and will provide a long-term socio-economic benefit for the Rappville community.
The construction will reorientate the design of the building for a more open usable space for the community. Improvements will include:
- removal and replacement of both the internal and external toilet areas with the inclusion of a public shower
- the existing loft area will be removed to enhance the space and light of the main library area
- repairs will be made to damaged areas
- a full internal fit out and reconstruction
