Casino Industries Activation Project

Casino Industries Activation Project

Work is underway on the Casino Industries Activation Project, a key initiative to drive economic growth and create new opportunities for businesses and jobs in the region.

Council has received $9.96 million through the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund (BLERF), jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments, together with Council’s co contribution of $3.8 million, bringing the total investment to $13.8 million to deliver the project. The Casino Industries Activation Project will expand the existing Cassino Drive industrial estate and deliver critical infrastructure to enable future development.

The project involves the design and construction of essential infrastructure, including:

Roundabout Construction

  • Two-lane roundabout and associated works on the Bruxner Highway at the Patricia Street intersection
  • Relocation of existing electricity lines
  • Installation of street lighting

Internal Infrastructure

  • Acquisition of development property
  • Construction of a sewerage pumping station
  • Extension of water reticulation to property boundaries and to service internal lots
  • Sewer mains to service lots
  • Upgrade of public road network (Patricia Street) to service lots

Activating this industrial precinct will attract new investment, create jobs, and strengthen the Richmond Valley economy. This project will help build resilience and position the region for long term growth.

Reynolds Road Industrial Development

Richmond Valley Council has completed the development of eleven industrial zoned lots, ranging in size from 4,500m2 to 3 hectares, located off Reynolds Road, Casino. This initiative was designed to attract employment generating industries and strengthen the Richmond Valley’s economic base.

Work commenced in January 2021, delivering major upgrades to critical infrastructure, including electricity, water and sewer connections and road access improvements.

The Reynolds Road industrial development forms part of the Nammoona Precinct and is perfectly positioned within the region’s logistics heartland for bold ideas to find the space to grow. Backed by the NSW Government as a Regional Job Precinct, it offers streamlined approvals, reduced red tape and a clear pathway to success.

The precinct is positioned alongside established industry, within a proven agricultural and manufacturing hub. It’s home to major employers like the Northern Co-operative Meat Company, Riverina Stock Feeds and DTM Timber.

Here, you’ll build your business in a thriving regional economy, with the Northern Rivers generating over $19 billion in GRP and forecast to grow faster than any other region in New South Wales over the next decade.

With the Richmond Valley identified as a new hotspot for internal migration, Richmond Valley is attracting talent, families, and growth. It’s a region with a strong foundation in agriculture, manufacturing, and logistics, and supports a diverse range of successful industries – from global brands like Jack Links, Mara Global and Richmond Dairies to local leaders doing big things such as Days Machinery, Spring Grove Fresh Food and Our Cow.

Whether you’re a local with a bold idea, an established business looking to expand, or an investor exploring new horizons – the Richmond Valley is here for your future.
