Weighbridge construction at Evans Head Waste Transfer Station

Throughout May and June Richmond Valley Council will be constructing a weighbridge at the Evans Head Waste Transfer Station.

The weighbridge will allow waste disposal charges to be calculated based on an accurate weight reading of the waste offloaded at the site.

This will provide a fairer and more equitable process than the current method of charging based on the size of the vehicle or trailer.

During weighbridge construction the current entry to the gatehouse will be closed off and a temporary entrance road will be in place.

Vehicles will continue to use the same entrance gate but will then veer right inside the gate and travel along the current exit driveway.

Please be aware that during construction this driveway will cater for entering and exiting traffic with bollards in place to separate the two traffic flows.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic and customers are asked to obey all signs and take due care.

The temporary arrangements are expected to start in late April or early May and are not expected to affect the level of service given to the public.

Council apologises in advance if any inconvenience is experienced.
