Financial Hardship Policy

Council has adopted a financial hardship policy to provide financial assistance to those ratepayers who are suffering genuine financial hardship with the payment of rates and/or charges. Options available to Council are as follows:

  • Interest not being charged on arrears for a set period of time.
  • Write off interest on rates and charges already incurred in either part or full.
  • An arrangement for payment of outstanding rates and/or charges or any combination of the options listed.

There are a number of conditions which need to be met before financial hardship may be granted.

The Financial Hardship Policy is available here.

Please contact Council if you wish to apply for financial hardship and your application will be treated with the utmost privacy.
