Richmond Valley Council is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible community for people of all abilities. We are developing our next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), and your feedback is essential.
Our DIAP is developed in line with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, aligns with the NSW State framework, and is shaped by community consultation. It focuses on four key areas:
- Attitudes and Behaviours – Promoting inclusive attitudes within Council and across the community.
- Liveable Communities – Supporting people of all abilities to live, learn, work, play and thrive in safe, welcoming environments.
- Employment – Creating opportunities for people with disability to participate in meaningful work and experience the benefits of employment.
- Systems and Processes – Ensuring access to information, services and systems, while supporting choice and independence.
These areas are important because they help remove barriers and create equal opportunities for everyone in the Richmond Valley.
