Master Plan
Richmond Valley Council invites community feedback on the Draft Casino CBD Master Plan, a long-term vision to guide the future of the Casino town centre.
The Draft Master Plan outlines a 25-year strategy to create a vibrant, connected, walkable and investment-ready CBD. It establishes a clear framework to support:
- More diverse housing and business opportunities
- High-quality public spaces for everyday use and community events
- A strong sense of local identity and pride
- Sustainable growth that respects heritage values and local character
The Plan is designed to be implemented in stages, providing direction for future capital works programs, grant funding opportunities, land use planning decisions, urban design guidance, the activation of key catalyst sites, and long-term investment attraction. Overall, it sets out a clear and confident vision for Casino CBD, helping to strengthen its role in servicing the community while encouraging increased housing opportunities, private sector investment and economic growth.
Council welcomes residents, businesses and stakeholders to review the draft and provide feedback which helps shape the future of the Casino CBD. The draft will be publicly displayed until Sunday, 9 August 2026 where it can viewed via the “On Exhibition” page of Council’s Website – www.richmondvalley.nsw.gov.au, or in hard copy at each of Council’s Customer Service Centres in Casino & Evans Head, and at the Casino Library.
Council encourages the community to have their say during the exhibition period, with written submissions to be addressed to the General Manager and delivered by:
- post to—Richmond Valley Council, Locked Bag 10, CASINO NSW 2470, or
- email to—council@richmondvalley.nsw.gov.au , or
- on-line—by completing an on-line submission form, or
- hand to—Council’s Customer Service Centres at Casino or Evans Head.
