DVD review by Corinne Hughes – The Meg

The Meg.

I love movies about underwater adventures and ginormous sharks/sea creatures and The Meg combines both.  Starring my fave action actor Jason Statham.  Statham usually plays anti-hero roles but convincingly portrays heroic  role  of deep sea dive rescuer, Jonas Taylor.  The cast is a mix of Chinese  and American actors including Rainn Wilson as the conniving weak billionaire financial backer, Li Bingbing as Suyin stunningly beautiful, Chief Marine Biologist, daughter of Dr. Zhang love interest to Jonas Taylor and co -founder of the Mana One underwater laboratory surveying and exploring the never before seen depths of the Mariana Trench.  Mana One lies above the deepest, darkest until now most  hidden place on Earth and home of the believed extinct Megaladon sharks. The Meg has frights, action, amazing stunts, good performances and a cool story – in other words it’s got it all happening.   5 out of 5 stars.
