Council featured in women and leadership report

Richmond Valley Council’s innovative efforts to deliver support and opportunities for women in the workplace have been recognised, with Council featuring in Women & Leadership Australia’s annual report, The 101st Day.

Women & Leadership Australia is a national initiative committed to supporting the presence of women in business and community leadership roles. WLA is based on the belief that women represent an enormously under-utilised national resource.

At Richmond Valley Council we are committed to helping and supporting our community through both maintenance of our local government area, community and economic development and giving opportunity to those that live and work in Richmond Valley.

In 2018 Women and Leadership Australia started a campaign called #100daysforchange. We at Richmond Valley signed up to this initiative as we strongly believe in supporting all our staff and the focus of this initiative was women. Our initiatives submitted were:

  • Try-a-trade
  • Women in the Workplace
  • A Domestic & Family Violence Policy

The team at Women & Leadership were very impressed with our achievements  and they included a feature article about us in their annual report. Read the full report here.
