The Happiest Man on Earth by Eddie Jaku
Eddie just turned 100 years of age and this is a biography of a Holocaust survivor who shares how he found gratitude, kindness and hope in the darkest of places. He writes about his experiences in Buchenwald and Auschwitz concentration camps and how he faced death and horrors every day. Because he survived Eddie made a vow to smile every day and despite everything he endured he believes he is the happiest man on earth.
While this book describes the horrors of those times it is an easy and quick read. It also shows how happiness can be found even we are surrounded by darkness. This book was a suggestion for purchase from a couple of our library customers. It is also available as an eAudiobook on BorrowBox.
