Richmond Valley Council was formed in February 2000 following the amalgamation of the former Richmond River Shire and Casino Councils.

Council elections were held in September 2008.

Richmond Valley Council operates from administration offices in Casino and Evans Head.

Each building has a receptionist/cashier where you can pay rates and other accounts, and make general enquiries.
